Navigating capital gains, timing of sales, commissions, and dividends gave her a firsthand look at the real-world complexities investors face. She saw the lasting impact of financial advice that ignores a client’s goals, especially on purchasing power and lifestyle.
Those early experiences sparked a passion: to educate and assist investors, especially women, in building thoughtful, long-term portfolios that align with their lives—not just the market.

That changed thanks to an influential economics professor. His curiosity sparked, Charles got a front-row seat to capital markets in action at San Antonio’s Union Stock Yards. He traded futures at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, structured oil & gas partnerships, and even sold cutlery door-to-door after the 1987 crash. Charles has worked in mutual fund administration, banking, venture capital, and teaching MBA students.
He joined Leavy Investment Management and NationsBank before founding the predecessor to Robinson Value Management, Robinson Investment Management. With 30+ years of experience, he now co-leads all aspects of the firm—from portfolio management and security analysis to compliance and IT systems.
Charles holds an MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a BA in Economics from Davidson College. A CFA charterholder, he is a member of the CFA Institute and a past president of the San Antonio Society of Financial Analysts. Charles is active in the community, serving as an elder at First Presbyterian Church. He’s also a member of the Order of the Alamo and the Merry Knights of King William.
When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
