Meet the Team

Amy Abbey Robinson, CIMA

Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Robinson shares responsibility for all the activities of the firm. Prior to joining RVM in 2004, Ms. Robinson was an Account Vice-President and an Investment Management Consultant for almost a decade with PaineWebber--which was acquired by UBS Financial Services. Prior to UBS, Ms. Robinson held retail and corporate positions with H.E. Butt Grocery Company. She also served as a Financial Analyst for both Bankers Trust Company and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Ms. Robinson is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) license holder and is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association. She holds an MBA from the Option II Executive MBA Program at the University of Texas at Austin and a BA from the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Robinson currently serves on the Advisory Council of the University of Texas College of Liberal Arts and is a member of the Battle of Flowers Association.

Charles W. Robinson III, CFA

Chief Investment Officer & Chief Complance Officer

Mr. Robinson shares responsibility for all the activities of the firm, leading security analysis, portfolio management, information technology systems, and compliance. Mr. Robinson has over 30 years of experience in portfolio management and is the founding principal of Robinson Value Management. As a vice president and portfolio manager for NationsBank, Mr. Robinson managed over $200 million in individual client assets. He also served on a small team (with John and Chris Leavy) managing over $750 million in institutional assets at Leavy Investment Management, Inc. in the early 1990's. His prior experiences include venture capital, traditional bank lending, as well as trading futures and options on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and as a registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA). Mr. Robinson instructed portfolio theory and computer applications in finance at the University of Texas at San Antonio's Graduate School of Business. A CFA Charterholder, he is a member of the CFA Institute and a past president of the San Antonio Society of Financial Analysts. He holds an MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a BA in Economics from Davidson College. Mr. Robinson is active in the community, serving as an elder at First Presbyterian Church, and as a member of the Order of the Alamo and the Merry Knights of King William.

Sherman P. Macdaniel

Investment Adviser Representative

Mr. Macdaniel brings over 45 years of experience in the investment management industry to his responsibilities as client relationship manager and investment advisor. Prior to joining Robinson Value Management, Mr. Macdaniel was an Investment Advisor at Capstone Asset Management Company. Prior to Capstone, he was a partner at Roger H. Jenswold & Company, Inc. for almost 20 years. Before becoming an investment advisor, Mr. Macdaniel was a stockbroker and branch manager in Houston. After receiving his MBA, he received a direct commission into the Finance Corps of the U.S. Army. Mr. Macdaniel has been an active member of the community, serving on the Board of Visiting Nurses Association of San Antonio and the San Antonio Area Foundation and as deacon at First Presbyterian Church San Antonio.

James W. McClelland

Director of Investments

Mr. McClelland is responsible for conducting investment research and analysis, assisting with trading and portfolio construction, maintaining marketing materials, and updating the Company's presence in national investment manager databases. Mr. McClelland previously served as a Finance Analyst for Bexar County where one of his responsibilities was being on the team that actively managed the County's significant investment portfolio. He holds a BBA in Finance from Schreiner University. Mr. McClelland is active in the community, serving as a mentor with the Boy Scouts, as a member of the Order of the Alamo, and a Life Member with San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
